The IANTD Recreational Trimix Diver course is designed to give the diver access to safer breathing mixtures while remaining in the sports diving range. A typical Recreational Trimix might contain 32% oxygen and 15% helium, reducing narcosis and making the diving safer, more memorable and more enjoyable.
Upon certification, you will be qualified to dive to 39msw using mixes with a fraction of oxygen between 21% and 40% and a fraction of helium that yields an equivalent narcotic depth no greater than 24msw.
You should be qualified as an Advanced Open Water diver, or equivalent and have completed at least 15 logged dives. You should also already hold an EANx Diver qualification.
You will be provided with the IANTD Recreational Trimix Diver Student Kit, including tables for dive planning. You will need a cylinder that is in test and oxygen service. A trimix dive computer, while not required, is handy.
The IANTD Recreational Trimix Diver course is £200.00 per person.
This price includes the training and materials outlined above. Certification costs are also included (providing certification criteria are met).
The following are not included in the course fee: Dive Site costs (inc. entry, accommodation, food, travel etc.), Gas and Sofnolime (if appropriate).
The IANTD Recreational Trimix Diver Course consist of one classroom session and two dives, completed over two days. During the classroom session you will learn about both the physics and practical applications of recreational trimix diving, before getting chance to experience the benefits of helium during the dives.
Course sessions can be structured to run consecutively or split over a number of sessions.
Evaluation on the IANTD Recreational Trimix Diver course is continuous. Throughout the training you will be assessed on your skills, performance and attitude. You will also complete a multi-choice exam during the course.
With IANTD Training is purchased, Certification is earned, meaning that you must meet the certification requirements and standards before it is issued. Extra training days can be added if needed.
