The IANTD Advanced Recreational Trimix Diver course is designed to extend the knowledge and skills gained from EANx sport diving, as well as to introduce the new skills required for technical diving and the use of Recreational Trimix.
QUALIFICATION
Upon certification, you will be qualified to dive to 48msw using EANx or Recreational Trimix. You will also be qualified to perform limited decompression using EANx mixtures up to and including 100% Oxygen to a maximum PO2 of 1.50ATA.
PREREQUISITES
You should hold an EANx Diver qualification and a Deep Diver qualification or sufficient experience to satisfy us that you can continue at this level of training. You should be comfortable in the water and have competence completing basic diving skills (mask skills, DSMB deployment etc.).
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
You will be provided with the IANTD Advanced Recreational Trimix Diver Student Kit, including tables for dive planning. In addition you will need the following equipment: Manifolded twin set (in test & oxygen service), primary and back up regulators, primary buoyancy device, dive computer / depth timer, basic dive kit (inc. SMB & Reel / Spool and a slate or notebook) and a decompression stage cylinder and regulator (both in oxygen service). We recommend aluminium stage cylinders, and these can be provided for the course if required.
COSTS
The IANTD Advanced Recreational Trimix Diver course is £450.00 per person.
This price includes the training and materials outlined above. Certification costs are also included (providing certification criteria are met).
The following are not included in the course fee: Dive Site costs (inc. entry, accommodation, food, travel etc.), Gas and Sofnolime (if appropriate).
COURSE STRUCTURE
The IANTD Advanced Recreational Trimix Diver course runs over 4 days. Day 1 is spent in the classroom where you will complete theory sessions, classroom practical problems and equipment workshops. Day 2 is spent at the dive site completing confined water and skills dives. This is a chance to make tweaks and adjustments on your skills and equipment following the previous day’s sessions. Days 3 and 4 are spent completing training dives, including accelerated decompression. During these days you will be using Recreational Trimix and EANx deco gases.
Course sessions can be structured to run consecutively or split over a number of sessions.
EVALUATION & ASSESSMENT
Evaluation on the IANTD Advanced Recreational Trimix Diver course is continuous. Throughout the training days you will be assessed on your skills, performance and attitude. You will also complete a multi-choice exam during the course.
With IANTD Training is purchased, Certification is earned, meaning that you must meet the certification requirements and standards before it is issued. Extra training days can be added if needed.
