In a contrast to traditional rebreather design, the Sentinel RedHead rebreather features a single back mounted counterlung. This means you are once again presented with a clear chest for stages, camera’s or just squeezing through tight gaps. Both a diver (with vibrating alarm) and buddy HUD means everyone is aware of the state of your rebreather, an excellent feature when team diving. An independent back up display provides an alternative source for monitoring PO2 in the loop, making a full bail out scenario even less likely.
The Sentinel RedHead also features a fully functioning gaseous CO2 sensor. This gives a constant reading on the amount of CO2 present within the breathing loop, and is a breakthrough in rebreather safety and technology.
A modular plug and play cable system means most components on the Sentinel RedHead such as handsets and HP senders can be changed on the boat or shore in a matter of seconds.
In it’s earlier forms, the Sentinel was available in both standard Sentinel and Sentinel Expedition forms. The Expedition version boasted the CO2 sensor as standard, along with a heavier backplate and a few other additions and upgrades. Both versions are still available second hand with an easy and cost effective upgfrade route to a RedHead.
