Tips For a Technical Diver – X-Ray Magazine

Tips For a Technical Diver – X-Ray Magazine

X-Ray Magazine Issue 52 Featured Image

The current issue of X-Ray magazine has a nice article regarding becoming a good (or “pro”) technical diver.  Written by Pascal Bernabe, an experienced technical instructor and record holder, it provides a guide for any budding technical diver.

Without going into too much details, as you can read the full article for yourself for free, his 10 tips were:

  1. Excellent trim
  2. Good physical condition
  3. Learn to plan your dives, however modest they are
  4. Learn to dive in a team
  5. Choose equipment that is simple, functional, reliable and versatile
  6. Automate your reactions
  7. There is never too much experience
  8. Choose appropriate gas mixes
  9. Enjoy diving, have fun and do not force yourself
  10. Try to gain new experience, become versatile.

I can agree with all 10 of his points, although not necessarily in that order of importance (I’m not sure if Pascal put these in any particular order).

X-Ray magazine is a free downloadable scuba diving magazine.  10 Tips on Going Pro appears in issue 52 from page 79.
