This month see’s the long awaited addition of Open Water Side Mount courses to our IANTD Training List.
For those of you not familiar with the concept of Side Mount diving, in simple terms you take the two cylinders from your back and put them on your sides. Any stages or ancillary equipment are then carried just like before.
We offer a full range of Side Mount courses, from a simple try dive to Nitrox and Trimix Qualifications.
If you’ve never dived Side Mount before, then the IANTD Open Water Side Mount Diver course provides a full introduction to all the concepts and skills. Once you’ve got this course, you can complete any other open circuit IANTD course in Side Mount configuration, such as Advanced Nitrox or Advanced Recreational Trimix. The Open Water Side Mount Diver course qualifies you to dive to your current diving level, but in Side Mount configuration.
Of course, if you prefer you can also combined the Open Water Side Mount Diver course with any of the IANTD open circuit courses.
Side Mount isn’t just for technical diving. More and more divers are choosing to dive Side Mount recreationally, if only for the convenience of having 2 cylinders without the combined weight of a twin set. Until you’ve tried it, you can’t really appreciate how much easier, and fun, Side Mount diving is.
