Back in 1997 Ambient Pressure launched the Inspiration, the worlds first full production closed circuit rebreather. At the time, the Inspiration was the only rebreather to have achieved CE certification and as such quickly gained reputation as the unit of choice for many, many divers.
Since 1997, the Inspiration has undergone a number of modifications, as well as spawning additional models:
Inspiration Classic
The Inspiration Classic still bears the the design characteristics of the original Inspiration. The main features are the dual oxygen controllers and handsets, providing complete redundancy in PO2 setpoint management.
Inspiration Vision
With the release of the Vision electronics package, the Inspiration Vision was born. Keeping the now standard dual oxygen controllers, the Inspiration Vision combines them with a single multifunction handset, Heads Up Display, CO2 scrubber monitor and real time decompression information.
Evolution
The Evolution contains all the great features of the Inspiration Vision, but with 2ltr cylinders and a slightly reduced CO2 scrubber capacity. The result is a perfectly capable rebreather that is lighter and shorter on the back. The Evolution is a great unit for the traveling diver or those of slighter build.
Evolution+
The Evolution+ combines the best of both the Inspiration Vision and Evolution Vision rebreathers. It maintains the lightness and compactness of 2ltr cylinders, but boasts the bigger scrubber capacity of the Inspiration.
